This Privacy Policy explains how The Stranger Labs (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Gallery Organizer Android app. It applies to this app and is intended to meet Google Play’s User Data policy requirements.
1. Introduction
Gallery Organizer helps you browse, search, and organize photos and videos on your device. Most media and face-recognition work happens on your device. The app also uses Google services for crash reporting, analytics, ads (if you are not a premium subscriber), remote configuration, and in-app purchases. Those services receive limited technical and advertising data, as described below.
2. Information processed on your device
This section describes data the app accesses or creates on your phone to provide core features. The Stranger Labs does not upload this data to our own servers.
- Photos, videos, and other files you choose to browse or organize, including file names, paths, dates, sizes, and available metadata (which may include location if the file contains it).
- Face detection and comparison data created while you run AI / face search (temporary mathematical representations of faces). This processing is local. We do not upload your photos, videos, or face embeddings to our servers.
- App settings such as folder lists, language, and preferences stored on the device.
3. Information we collect and send to Google
- Device and app information: device model, Android version, app version, language, and similar technical details.
- Crash and performance data (Firebase Crashlytics): stack traces, error messages, and diagnostic logs. We may attach non-content diagnostics such as subscription status or feature flags to help fix bugs. We do not attach your photo or video files to crash reports.
- Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics): screens viewed, feature usage, and session information.
- Remote configuration: Firebase Remote Config may receive a device/app identifier so we can enable or disable features (for example ads) remotely.
- Advertising data (Google AdMob, free users): advertising ID, device information, approximate location derived by Google, ad impressions, and ad interactions. Used to show and measure banner and interstitial ads.
- Purchase data (Google Play Billing): product identifiers, purchase tokens, and subscription status so we can unlock premium features and remove ads. Payment card details are handled by Google Play, not by us.
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, email, or payment card number inside the app.
4. How we use information
- Provide gallery browsing, file copy/move/delete, and on-device AI face search.
- Keep background file and media operations running with a visible notification when you start them.
- Find and fix crashes and improve performance.
- Understand which features are used so we can improve the app.
- Show ads to users who are not subscribed to premium.
- Verify and restore premium subscriptions.
- Comply with law and protect the app against abuse.
5. Sharing and third parties
We do share certain information with third parties through the Google SDKs listed below. We do not sell your personal information. We do not upload your media files or face data to The Stranger Labs servers.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect users, our rights, or safety.
6. Permissions
The app may request:
- Photos, videos, audio / storage: to list and organize files you select.
- Internet and network state: ads, Firebase, and Play Billing.
- Notifications: progress of background operations.
- Foreground service (data sync and media processing): continue copy/move/delete and AI search after you leave the screen.
- Battery optimization exemption (optional): more reliable background work.
You can deny or revoke permissions in Android settings. Some features will not work without them.
7. Advertising and premium
Free users may see Google ads. Premium subscribers do not see ads. You can also manage advertising preferences in your Google account / device ad settings (for example reset or opt out of ad personalization).
8. Data retention
- Media and face data stay on your device; face embeddings are discarded after the search finishes (they are not stored on our servers).
- Crashlytics and Analytics data are kept by Google according to their retention settings.
- Subscription records are kept by Google Play for as long as needed to provide the purchase.
- Uninstalling the app removes local app data on the device. It does not automatically delete data already sent to Google; you can use Google’s tools and the contact below to request deletion where applicable.
9. Security
On-device media is not sent to our servers. Data sent to Google uses their encrypted connections. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EEA/UK and California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email contact@thestrangerlabs.com. You may also use Android and Google account controls (ads, activity, and Play subscription management).
We do not sell personal information as that term is used in the CCPA/CPRA.
11. Children
Gallery Organizer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us and we will delete it where we control it.
12. International transfers
Google may process data on servers outside your country. Those transfers are governed by Google’s privacy policy and applicable law.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes may also be noted in the app or on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where the law requires additional consent.
